What’s calling out to you?

Shop Smk n Sge, Co. for the Spring & Summer

Dear community,

For the past four months, my sister and I—co-founders of SoulfuLight LLC—have been navigating one of the most difficult chapters of our lives. We’ve been running our business while living out of our car, moving from place to place, holding on to our passion and purpose despite the odds.

In that time, we’ve experienced the sting of a trusted employer ghosting us without pay, a break-in that made even our car unsafe to sleep in, the stress of a month without phone service, and growing debt that now threatens the very foundation of our livelihood—including the suspension of my driver’s license due to insurance issues.

We’ve since been welcomed into a safe space by our siblings as we rebuild—but we urgently need support to keep our business afloat this month. Our bills are severely past due, and our operational costs are stacking up.

Through all of this, we haven’t stopped working toward our mission: At SoulfuLight, we believe in the healing power of creativity, wellness, and intentional living. Our work spans across portraiture, event photography, and holistic lifestyle services—and through our sister brand, Smk & Sge Co., we offer wellness, beauty, and nutritional products designed to support natural living.

We’ve continued to serve our community through art, healing events, and mindful media, even when our own circumstances were unstable. But now we need your help to continue.

Your contribution today will help us:

  • Cover essential living and business operation costs

  • Prevent further debt and license suspension

  • Keep our studio and online store running

  • Upgrade outdated equipment for content creation

  • Plan upcoming healing events and retreats in L.A.

We’re not asking for charity—we’re inviting you to be part of our healing and rebuilding journey. Your support empowers us to continue our mission of creating safe, empowering spaces for others, just as we’re working to create that space for ourselves again.

Whether you can give $5 or $500, every contribution is meaningful. And as a thank-you, you’ll receive a special selection of products and/or services from us to show our deep gratitude.

We are committed to rising from this with grace, strength, and purpose—and with your help, we can continue serving the community we love so deeply.

With love and resilience, Tai’Leah Paige & the SoulfuLight Team

What can you do about worldwide genocide?

I’m so glad you asked — Thanks to a ton of amazing creatives and individuals speaking out about our History and it doesn’t stop there.

Making our voices heard, leading by example through boycotts and hosting conversations, protesting supporting those who protest and many other options are available via my Instagram thread.

Thank you to JuicebaeintheWild, JessiMelani, AmandaSeales and so many others.

turn your rage into strategic and productive action.

We need your help to advocate for an Immediate CEASEFIRE and the End to Israel’s Apartheid in Gaza. We ask that you stand in Solidarity with us for all Indigenous and Oppressed Peoples. Jewish Voices for Peace has streamlined simple and effective ways to combat Genocide, Colonialism and harmful narratives that keep us in a War Loop.

Cannabis Compassion: Survivors w/o Access & Veteran

“SB-34, The Dennis Peron and Brownie Mary Act, named after two pioneers of medical cannabis access, was the community-driven response to revive compassionate cannabis donations. California state Senate Bill 34 creates a legal pathway by which licensed cannabis companies can donate legal and tested products to eligible patients.” ——- Los Angeles NORML

FEATURING THE FIRST BLACK WOMEN OWNED DISPENSARY IN LA: GORILLA RX WELLNESS

A 2017 report from Marijuana Business Daily shows that a little more than 4 percent of marijuana business owners identify as Black compared to the more than 80 percent of white owners.

While there are many organizations working to create an equitable cannabis industry in major cities like Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Portland, we can also help change that narrative.

“Megan Thee Stallion has launched a new website titled Bad Bitches Have Bad Days Too to provide help and resources for mental health treatment for both the Black community and LGBTQ+ people of color.

Named after a lyric in her song “Anxiety,” the website consists of multiple direct links to therapy platforms, inclusive organizations, and crisis hotlines such as the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the LGBTQ Psychotherapist of Color Directory, the Dear Black Woman Project, and a number to contact Trans Lifeline.” ——- By Athena Serrano September 28, 2022
