5 Key Takeaways from "The Mountain is You"

Heyyyy errbody, waddup! It’s yo gurl — I’m bringing you something uber special that I’m really excited to share. You know, this month is Mental Health Awareness Month. Yes!! The Month of May, and wooooo am I excited for what’s to come! I have so many tings planned but first things first, if you have not already seen my Mental Health Refreshers Post I would love for you to go check it out. Not only to show Love but to give me some feedback as well! If you’re looking for ways to refresh your Mental, this time is the perfect time to do it AND it’s the perfect mini guide for aligning your actions with a solid foundation. Cool? Cool.

So this Month I’m not only challenging myself to share (more than I have ever really shared before ahem) tips, recipes, activities, interviews, resources and so so so much more. I’m giving it all away honey!! HAHA. Well. — not awl away hehe.

Anytee ways, I have been doing so much reading lately and if you know anything about ya gurl, I’m a Self Help Freak; a Personal Development Nerd if you will. I’m always looking for ways to not only improve myself personally but also invest in things that will help me improve my productivity professionally as well. After all my studying, accumulation of knowledge and just having the motivation to grow, one thing I have learned and I know one thing for sure — I am my own worst enemy (sometimes). A lot of the time, I get in my own way. My humanity doesn’t allow me to always be as perfect and consistent as I desire to be. One thing I’ve also learned is that, THAT’S OKAY. First of all, I can’t be going around here being tooooo all that, I mean, I’m already giving the girls so much to work with already hahahah, I’m playing, I’m playing. But honestly, I’ve done and continue to do a lot of work on myself. I know myself, including all of my flaws, very deeply. It makes me happy to know that I’m doing all I can on a daily basis to AT LEAST show up for myself and my goals, even if I don’t check every box, amirite??

We all have things that need adjusting — maybe it’s our overall routine, maybe it’s a bad habit here and there, and maybe it’s just a pile of a bunch of little tiny things that we know we could work on and/or want to invest more time in. I’m not mad atcha if you feel that way. I mean, we all need to spend this time wisely while we’re here. For me, I know that the rewards that appear in the midst of bettering myself are, so far, 100% worth the journey and worth the effort. I’m talking about really truly deep down feeling the shift and being so happy and grateful for the results. This takes years of practice. And I don’t mean to say that to offend or intimidate you with the nuances. I’m here to share my story, and let you know, from example that anything (and I truly mean anything) is possible. Living at our fullest potential may seem far fetched now, but it’s only because we haven’t even begun to witness ourselves at our best. Maybe we’ve seen a glimmer or two, but we really truly haven’t even scratched the surface. Even with all of my years experience, I know that one, two, five years down the line, I won’t even recognize myself at all anymore. It’s something I’m looking forward to. Because honestly, I barely recognize myself from day to day; with all the shifts, all the tools at my disposal, I know I’m going to be a better woman than I was yesterday — a year ago. I’m eager and excited to see what that all entails.

Now, enough with my yapping, let’s get into this new tool I’d like to share with you. One of my favorite tools, as hinted earlier, BOOKS. Ask anyone who knows ya gurl, ya gurl be in the library, and I be in there OFTEN. My mind is so stimulated by the accumulation of titles and texts. Almost every collection speaks to me in some way. Now as I’ve stated earlier, I’m a Self Help girlie, a Transformation Student & Teacher. This book was recommended to me a few times in my journey; once by my previous Life Coach, another time just in passing within the Health community, and another time by that Tik Tok trend where you search “book” and a few suggestions come up. Within seconds of reading, I was already a huge fan. The author pleasantly summarizes what a healing journey looks like and (more than) a few helpful pointers on what we can do to become more empowered and productive along our journey. This has a lot to do with internal work surrounding our everyday behaviors. If you’re not ready to get read to filth, go ahead and put this book down baby lmaooo, come back to it later. If you’re ready to release control and surrender all your hangups in the name of healing and survival. Please keep going — I promise you, there’s something really special for you waiting at the end. Not just the end of the book, but at the end of this blog chile!! No I’m serious, keep reading, no catches whatsoever. Or just skip to the TL;DR section at the very end.

Okay, so I gave away the surprise… I did enough yapping chile. With the way our attention spans are moving, I was afraid I’ll lose you… But that could just be my abandonment and lack of self worth issues. Oops…. I fear I’ve said too much. That’s how you know this book is working. Wanna know if this book is for you? Click through the presentation below to get a summary not summary of my Top 5 Key Takeaways from the book.
